Will's Talents

Celebrating Will’s Journey: His Talents, A Heart of Gold and Compassion
Every person's life is unique, and it's what we do while we live and how we make people feel that forever stays in the memory of others…
Will had a smile that could light up any room. Whenever you were near him, you would immediately feel at ease and know you were in the presence of one of the kindest spirits you could encounter. With his gentle heart, caring personality, and easy-going spirit, he embodied compassion and empathy for people.

Alongside his beautiful qualities as a human being and his strong spiritual connection with God, Will was also an incredibly multi-talented individual. Whether on the football field, on the drums, on the stage, or in the studio, he loved living according to his gifts and joyful spirit.

Will was always willing to give back. As he always strived to live according to God's purpose, caring for and helping people came naturally to him.

Affectionately known as Lil' Bill, Dougie, and Will, he was a cherished figure in the lives of many.
From a young age, Will displayed a natural talent for sports. He ran track, and played basketball, but developed a particular love for football. He played as a boy at Harrell Playground where their team won a Championship for the 2000-2001 season. While displaced after Hurricane Katrina, Will played as a running back for Jennings Middle School, scored in every game he played in, and also won a Championship in the fall of 2005. Upon returning home, he played for Lusher Charter Middle School and Benjamin Franklin High School. His smaller stature was overshadowed by his immense talent and determination on the football field, earning him starting positions at every level. And while Will didn't have the typical height of a high school football player, he still played starting Running Back as a freshman at Ben Franklin High School - where he graduated in 2012.
His academic excellence earned him a full four-year academic leadership scholarship to Tulane University as part of the inaugural class of Posse New Orleans Scholars. And though he delved into Biomedical Engineering, Psychology, and Communications there, Will was given an opportunity to enter the insurance field as a sales associate for Jonathan Stewart's State Farm office. His talent and dedication flourished, leading him to relocate to Dallas, Texas, in 2018 to join the State Farm Headquarters.

While Will's full-time job helped him earn a living, his true calling was music.

Those who knew Will forever remember him for all that he was: his boundless talents, warm spirit, kind words, and the unwavering belief that everyone deserves love and respect. Will's life is a testament to living with passion and heart. His legacy of love and talent continues to inspire us all, and we dedicate this page to celebrating his life, gifts, heart of gold, and compassion. We hope that Will's life and joyful, God-loving spirit inspires you to pursue your own talents and dreams and embrace the person God created you to be. Will’s Lifelong Passion
For Music
From a young age, Will had an undeniable connection to music - starting his musical journey with the snare drum, an instrument he discovered a deep passion for. Although he attended a few classes in middle school, he was primarily a self-taught drummer. His natural talent quickly shone through, leading him to become the church drummer at just twelve years old. This role was a tribute to his paternal grandfather, a drummer himself, whose legacy Will unknowingly continued.
Will remained the church drummer until he moved to Dallas in his twenties. Before moving, he became the first teacher to train his young successor, who would go on to become an accomplished drummer in his own right.

Songs of Will’s Heart
Will's musical journey extended beyond drumming. He eventually discovered a profound love for singing, a passion that defined much of his life. Will sang at every opportunity, whether it was karaoke on a cruise ship, a family reunion, a talent show, or any open mic night he could find. His voice became a constant presence, filling spaces with joy and energy.
Embracing his musical identity, Will created a persona as an artist and recorded several singles under the stage name Livm Svnko - a clever play on his name, William Jones V. Livm Svnko (pronounced Lee-um San-ko). Under this name, he recorded several singles, each one revealing his emotional depth and pieces of his soul.
Will's musical legacy continues to resonate through his recordings and the memories of those who heard him play or sing. His love for music, deeply intertwined with his identity, remains a tribute to his life's story.
We warmly invite you to watch the video of Will singing on an ordinary day as well as explore some of his recorded songs below to experience the musical journey that was so central to Will's life.

Roq
Wit Me
in Will’s Words
“roq wit me” is a song about wanting that old thing back.
Realizing that someone is meant to be more than just friends in your life, and expressing that to them.

It definitely has an old school R&B vibe to it all. I am not gang-affiliated, I just wanted to be cool & different with the spelling, I may have did too much w/ that.

Heartbreak Anniversary
Original by the
Artist Giveon.
Will’s cover of "Heartbreak Anniversary" reflects on love lost and the memories that linger. It’s about the pain of remembering someone who’s no longer in your life and the emotions that resurface on certain days.
Through his rendition, Will brings a fresh yet deeply personal touch, connecting listeners to the feelings of heartbreak and longing.
Over
& Over
in Will’s Words
"OVER&OVER" is about the daily grind of life. Wondering if the intentionally good decisions you're making now will really effect the life you want later on.
What does the other side look like? How does the guy that I am actively working on, live? How do the fruits of my labor taste?

Leading With Faith: Mime Ministry
Throughout his life, Will's faith has always guided him, and he has always found time to be involved in expressive and creative activities, including leading the Mime Ministry. This unique form of worship uses pantomime to convey spiritual messages and emotions without words, allowing performers to tell Biblical stories and share faith through movement and gesture.

As a teenager, Will performed in his church's Mime Ministry. When he moved to Texas, in addition to music, he became the leader of his new church's Mime Ministry.

The gift Will had for Mime Ministry remains a memorable imprint in the hearts of those who saw him perform and everyone who knew and loved him.

A Smile and A Kind Word
for Everyone
Even in the midst of Will's struggles, his smile and kind words were always present. He cherished time spent with family and friends and was always proactive in keeping in touch with those he loved.
Will also had an incredible gift for connecting with people. He was always eager to meet new faces and would often approach strangers, convinced they looked familiar, asking if they knew someone he did or attended a school he went to.
This unique approach was Will's way of breaking down barriers, ensuring his world was never full of unfamiliar faces, but rather beautiful souls to connect with and friendships waiting to be formed. He truly never met a stranger and once told his dad that he saw good in everyone.
“Will never met a stranger.
Each face held a potential connection,
a friendship waiting to unfold.”
Will’s Spirit: The Joy of Giving Back

Will's life was a beautiful example of the power of giving. He had a big heart and showed his kindness through his actions.
During the summers, Will worked as a camp counselor, dedicating his time to children with Pulmonary Disorders and local school-aged kids. His patience, kindness, and enthusiasm earned him high praise from his elementary school students during a college internship.
In 2014, Will went on a mission trip to Haiti to help build a school. That trip left a lasting impression on him and those he helped.
The children there loved being around him, drawn to his warmth, positivity, and generosity. Seeing how little people had, Will even left behind a suitcase filled with clothes and shoes, knowing they would benefit someone in need more than himself.
If you look closely at the group photo above, you will see Will (with his right arm up) standing on the left side in a black undershirt because he gave away his shirt. For the same reason, he is also not wearing shoes, only socks.
The mission to Haiti was a life-changing experience for Will. It filled him with gratitude for all the blessings in his life and a commitment to never take anything for granted.
Will's generosity will forever remind us of the profound impact one person can have through acts of pure kindness and an unwavering pursuit of faith. His legacy of giving, whether through love, time, or material possessions, continues to inspire all who knew him. May his example encourage each of us to make a positive difference in the world around us.

“During our mission trip to Haiti, it was as if you were a celebrity.
Nearly every kid in the village took a liking to you
to the point it looked like you had fans. It was truly remarkable!”
Rob M.
